Nancy and I had the best time writing this book! She is a brilliant researcher and her depth and breadth of knowledge around sacramental rites is impressive and important. I became involved in this project because we wanted to make that knowledge accessible to anyone in a fun and engaging way. I think Nancy and I were a great team.... writing about how baptism harkens back to Jewish purification rites and then taking that significance and applying it to everyday water activities you might experience with your child, grandchild or godchild: swimming, taking a bath, washing off scraped knees, etc. This little book will help you find avenues in everyday activities to easily talk with your child about God.

About the Author
Nancy Ann McLaughlin, an Episcopal laywoman, is an administrator at Grand Canyon University in Arizona. She holds a doctoral degree from Seabury-Western Theological Seminary.
Tracey Herzer has 20+ years experience as an educator in the Episcopal Church. She is President of NAECED (National Association of the Episcopal Christian Education Directors) and Executive Director of LeaderResources, and also the author of WorkshopCycles Sunday School program for children.

GREAT resource!

For years, people have asked "What's a Godparent supposed to do?" Now there is a book that gives plenty of answers to that question. I have bought several 'loner' copies for parents and godparents, and recommend it to new families. A valuable resource, too, for parents, with lots of ideas for celebrating the seasons of the Church year (besides Santa!) and specific occasions to mark. A great bonus is that activities are listed on pages with a grey backgound-very easy to find and it's always great to have a list to choose from.
