Clearly written from an Anglican perspective

It is frustrating when one has taken a class in Anglican theology and yet used a textbook that is not written by an Anglican when they are available. If you are looking for an introductory text on systematic theology from an Anglican perspective, this book will serve quite nicely. Those outside Anglicanism like to sarcastically claim that we have no distinctive theology, which is completely untrue. There are many fine Anglican theologians both past and present, and although many times they have not done systematic theology, they have nonetheless produced some clear and original work. This book is very similar to but a bit more detailed than Alister McGrath's Theology:The Basics, which also comes with a companion volume of Readings.
I also liked the fact that this was available for kindle, so that I could get it immediately.
This is a basic text, and if you wish to read something much more detailed (and more difficult to read) then move from this book to John MacQuarrie's Principles of Christian Theology, or, of course, Rowan Williams' very dense On Theology. The work of Sallie McFague is also fascinating from a feminist perspective.
This book served exactly the purpose for which I was hoping, and was a pretty quick read.

Good, but not a thorough basic text.

I used this book in an upper level seminary systematic theology course. Thomas covers all the basics, but depends on a lot of apriori knowledge, so this is not a book for beginners. Also, he spends far too much time doing Anglican appologetics for us non-Anglicans/Episcopalians.
