Jennie Turrell teaches visual art at Franklin County High School in Winchester, TN, where she also helps works to create opportunities for her students to pursue further education after graduation. She holds a bachelor's degree in art and a master's degree in elementary education. She lives in Sewanee, Tennessee.

LET US PRAY, with step by step illustrations of the liturgy, incorporates the Episcopal Eucharistic service matched with child friendly verse explaining each aspect of the service. An excellent resource for families with small children, godparents, and Welcoming Committees to offer to children to use during the services. Pictures incorporate sheep as members of the congregation and in the service, reinforcing the story of the Good Shepherd.

Let us pray - TOGETHER!

When the 5 year old beside me pulled down the kneeler and began reading the confession from his copy of "Let Us Pray", I could tangibly feel what it means to "help this child grow into the full stature of Christ" as parents and godparents are asked to do at their child's baptism. This gem of a little book gives a non-biased, accessible entry into the eucharist for little kid's and I believe it will be a primary tool to keeping our children in worship with the gathered community, instead of whisking them (and their "noise") away. It is a brand new tool for a very ancient tradition, and I believe it can - if we allow it - change the way our kids worship with us. Thank you, Jennie.
